Best Dressed Divas of the 81st Academy Awards:2009

Taraji P. Henson In Roberto Cavalli

Queen Latifah In Georges Chakra

Viola Davis In Reem Acra

Anne Hathway In Armani Prive

Natalie Portman In Rodarte

Marisa Tomei In Versace

Evan Rachel Wood In Elie Saab

Kate Winslet In YSL

Tilda Swinton In Lanvin

It just seems like yesterday when Tararji P. Henson was on every red carpet known to mankind for her portrayal of Queenie in "The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button" last year. The actress looked stunning in her ivory tiered strapless Roberto Cavalli dress paired with an exquisite necklace.

Many of my favorites also blew me away such as Anne Hathaway in that magnificent sequined Armani Prive dress. Viola Davis was a newcomer on the carpet and she rose to the occasion in a marvelous metallic halter Reem Acra dress. Many didn't appreciate Tilda Swinson's Lanvin ensemble but I felt that she pulled it off beautifully. Why should she be force into an evening gown?

I am anticipating Mo'nique and Gabourey Sidibe gracing the awards for the first time and lets keep our fingers cross that both of them bring it all the way home.

For the most part, they played it safe last year so I am praying this year for a few surprises and risks(not Lady Gaga craziness) on the red carpet for the 82nd Academy Awards on Sunday.

Fabulous Events

Celebrating Red Carpet Oscar Fashion

Only Camilla Belle can wear this gorgeous white feathered Marchesa dress and not look like Big Bird. She looks like she is floating on air in this delicate ensemble.

Vanity Fair Hosts Hunger In America Project Benefit

Ali Larter is the epitome of chicness in this amazing ensemble. I would kill anyone in my path for her mint draped Burberry skirt paired with a crisp white jacket and great metallic sandals .

Vanity Fair and Dior Host Kimberly Brooks "The Stylist Project"

Artist Kimberly Brooke, Tracee Ellis Ross and Cameron Silver were in attendance.
Tracee looks sophisticated in her red coat dress paired with nude heels.

I am looooving Marisa Tomei striped retro jumpsuit. It's chic and fabulous.

Ginnifer Goodwin looks so girlie in this feminine multi colored floral Christian Dior frock.

Abbie Cornish is just glowing in this red belted Christian Dior dress.

Lisa Edelstein looks absolutely divine in this white sheath dress. I simply adore the textured neckline.

Why so demure Christina Hendricks? I am so use to seeing her in va va voom pieces. This all black ensemble is way too boring and safe for her. At least she wore a pop of color red shoes.

Celebrities Love Georges Chakra

Queen Latifah

Tyra Banks

Carrie Underwood

Helen Mirren

Emily Blunt

Paris Hilton

Jenna Dewan

Julie Benz

It's all about glitter, sheen and embellishments when it comes to Georges Chakra designs. The Beirut-based Lebanese haute couture designer silhouettes are appearing on the red carpet for every major award show.

His feminine silhouettes are simply gorgeous because of the exquisite craftsmanship of the garments. The embellishments are tastefully done without looking tacky and gaudy.

When I think of fairytale glamour, Georges Chakra designs come to mind. Queen Latifah and Carrie Underwood are a fan of his unique pieces. I am still having chills from that silver lame one-shouldered dress Queen Latifah wore to the 37th Annual FiFi Awards. One thing I can say about middle eastern designers is that they will never ever leave you bore or wanting more!

Best Dressed Diva Of The Week: Anika Noni Rose

Anika Noni Rose owned the red carpet this week looking flawless!

The beautiful actress first wore that amazing blue one-shouldered David Meister dress to the 12th Annual Costume Designer Guild Awards. She looked flawless from head to toe.

She continues her winning streak at the NAACCP Awards in her spectacular white beaded mermaid strapless dress.

The last stunner was her red embellished Naeem Khan dress she wore hosting the NAACP awards show. I was blown away with this exquisite silhouette.

Anika Noni Rose has come a long way from her frumpy ensembles to glamorous red carpet dresses.

Worst Dressed Diva Of The Week: Loretta Devine

Loretta Devine looks like the drunk aunt at a your average wedding! Everything about this look is beyond hideous from her corner store wig to her too tight shiny ensemble. I hate to be catty but I have to be honest.
