WHY OFFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS

Here is my projected lineup for the Yankees in 2011.
1. Derek Jeter (SS): Perhaps his last year as a lead off hitter before that speedster Brett Gardner takes the throne, but I see him getting back to being the Jeter of 2009.

2. Nick Swisher (RF): Swish had the best season of his career last year. I see him having an even better year in 2011 as he gets deeper into his prime.

3. Mark Teixeira (1B): Expect another slow April/May but by July he'll be right up there among the league leaders in homer and RBIs. I can't see his batting average getting any lower than last year. He will bat over .275 in 2011 for sure.

4. Alex Rodriguez (3B): A-Rod is due for an MVP Season. Here's my logic. A-Rod won the MVP in 2003, 2005 and 2007 (he won the MVP in every off numbered year since 2003 {except 2009}). In 2009, he was sidelined until May 8th and still finished with 30 home runs and 100 RBI's. In 2011, an odd numbered year, I see him winning the MVP with 45+ home runs and 125+ RBIs.

5. Robinson Cano (2B): The smooth swinging and slick fielding Cano will once again bat over .320 and have solid home run and RBI numbers.
6. Jorge Posada (DH): Perhaps this is his last solid year. Perhaps his solid years are behind him? I think so.

7. Curtis Granderson (CF): The Grandy man can! He didn't break out with the Bombers until August of last year by working with the Zen Master, Kevin Long. He will have his adjusted swing all year and will live up to the expectations we gave him last year.

8. Russell Martin (C): I have no idea what to expect from this guy. I know that he's a solid fielder but I don't know what to expect from his bat. Maybe the Yankees and a change of scenery will be a positive thing for Russell.9. Brett Gardner (LF): There's really no where else to put him besides in the 9 hole without hurting Jeter's feelings. The fastest player the Yankees have and their only bunting threat is Gardy.

The offense of the Yankees looks great, it always does. I think they will finish 92-70 and win the American League Wild card again. What do you think? Tell me.
