WHY WE NEED TO FORGIVE SORIANO

So the reports coming out of Yankeeland were that RaSo needed to fix this mess and fix it quickly. Randy Levine and Brian Cashman quickly jumped in to “explain” the Yankee way to Soriano of how to treat the media and fans after the blown Yankee-Twins game. In fact, Yankee beat writer, Mark Feinsand, who we love here at BYB had confirmed to me via Twitter that Levine and Cash called RaSo’s agent, Scott Boras, and got him involved to make sure his client “made things right”. Soriano apologized. read it HERE.

As you all know by now, after blowing that 4-0 lead 2 nights ago to the Twins, RaSo was nowhere to be found in the clubhouse when the media came looking for answers. Tweets were fast and furious for 36 hours between angry fans wanting to yell about him, to beat writers and bloggers giving their thoughts on his disappearing act and leaving his teammates holding the bag to answer to the media for his collapse. Of course, guys like Swisher took the high road and faced the media and fans and admitted to botching that blooper that tied the game for the Twins. Looking back, I'm not even sure that Swisher had a legit shot at that ball, but the bottom line is, Swisher did things the Yankee way: Face the media, admit you're wrong when you’re wrong, apologize, and move on. That’s why Yankee fans love Nick Swisher!

RaSo is new to the Bronx. He is new to the media attention that you get in New York vs. St. Petersburg. Fans here in the Bronx are truly FAN-atics, and RaSo, unfortunately, learned the hard way.

Cashman said it best: “He’s new to this market, so, like everything else, you live and you learn.” I agree Cash. I believe RaSo and have no problem putting this episode behind me. You asked for forgiveness and you got it from this diehard fan!

So fans, let's move forward, everyone has a bad day, Soriano just had his, so let's play ball.
