- The New York Yankees have avoided arbitration with Joba, Boone Logan and Phil Hughes. So what does that mean? It means that they all agreed on a 1 year deal.
Phil Hughes will make $2.7 million, Joba Chamberlain will make $1.4 million, Boone Logan will make $1.2 million. It was the first time for arbitration for both Phil and Joba, it was the second time for Logan.
- Jon Heyman from SI tweeted that the Yankees and Andruw Jones are still talking but no deal yet.
- Rafael Soriano is scheduled for his physical with the Yanks today. We are all anxiously awaiting the announcement of Soriano in pinstripes. Speculation it's tomorrow if all goes well.
- Pinstripe Alley is reporting an interesting angle to the Yankees pitching rotation. How about Armando Galarraga for the Yankees’ 4th or 5th spot. He was designated for assignment today by the Tigers. They write “whether it is a straight waiver pickup, or a trade, he would be better than Mitre.” I guess I’m not the only one who doesn’t like Mitre.
