We saw it the first time. We saw it with Nick Swisher when he fell from grace going from Oakland to Chicago. Then, in the winter of 2008, the magic happened with the New York Yankees and the Bronx Elvis never looked back.
Expect to see it a second time. That magic will happen again, this time with Andruw Jones. Expect the torch to be passed to Mr. Jones. Expect good things ladies and gentleman, it's about to be another revival.
Peter Gammons can be out there on twitter all day long dropping numbers about how the past 4 years Jones is batting just .211, but Peter, Yankee fans don't care about that. We care about need. We care about a clean slate. We care about winning. We care about confidence. True, Andruw Jones may be past his prime, but his prime is all but forgotten if he delivers in the Bronx, and believe me, he WILL succeed. Why? The fans. All you need to do, is tease us Andruw. Start hitting and keep the line moving and you'll have us at "Hello." Expect a renaissance in 2011, a revival, a new Bronx hero in Andruw Jones Ladies and Gentlemen.
Will Andruw Jones see at bats? Hell Yes. Can Andruw Jones still jack it out of the park? Hell Yes. Can Andruw Jones hit lefties, play all positions in the outfield and give Posada a day off once in a while and fill in at DH? Hell Yes. So, let's go with it Yankee fans... don't listen to Peter Gammons. He has a tendency of making backhanded compliments toward any Yankee move ever in the history of Gammons making backhanded comments. Seriously. Forget that guy. We have Andruw Jones, be happy. Hmm will he want #52 (number 25 backwards.)? I wonder. So, busy week, finally. And again, all is well in Yankeeland. Now we just need our beloved Mr. Andy Pettitte to come back. Come on Andy, we're waiting for your call.
