My mouth is still literally to the floor from viewing this spectacular Fall 2009 collection. I said it before and I will say it again; Oscar de la Renta is a genius. He knows what silhouettes work beautifully on a woman's body.
The models came out with boufon hair-dos and just the look of I have arrived on their faces. Of course there were the signature wool, tweed and charmeuse and even skunk fur open up the show. It's all about luxurious fabrics and silhouettes. Colors ranged from gray, black, leopard to a burst of fabulous magenta, coral, mustard and red. The lovely puff sleeves and asymmetrical pieces were magical.
I believe Oscar de la Renta clientele must be untouchable when it come to the economy because this collection was indeed for the upper-crust. Just like Carolina Herrera, someone needs to inform Oscar that the rest of the world are still in a recession but we still can dream from this extraordinary collection!
