WHY BURNETT'S ABOUT TO BRING IT

AJ Burnett is about to embark on his best season as a New York Yankee. You heard it here first.
1 reason...Mechanics. Getting to the core of your problems is key and while AJ had other alleged issues going on, mechanics seems to be the major culprit, according to Rothschild. We've seen it with throwing, swinging and slumps. Grandy and Swish last year. Joba and AJ this year.

The main point with mechanics is, if you can figure out where a foot's landing or where you're follow through is when you finish your release, and you right that to the way it's supposed to be, well, let's just say you become you again. AJ is about to be AJ again.

Here's a quote from AJ from Peter Botte's piece in the NY Daily News:

"You just get the ball back and make the next pitch. So far we've stopped it. Stuff's going to creep into your head, but you have to have confidence and believe in yourself, no matter what. It's not questioning every little thing you do out there."

Look, AJ, who was never dominant, but he will be damn close to great this year. It breaks down simply like this. With mechanic analysis comes confidence, when the confidence comes, any doubt leaves and focus takes over. I call it the Pyramid of Pitching Dominance. Sounds ridiculous but it's all connected.

Yes, it's true. One Spring game of 2 innings of shutout work will not make AJ the ultimate ace. I know that. It will however demonstrate to himself that he IS capable and it is his first step.

Rothschild seems almost like a Zen Master to me. I Freakish Yoda figure that notices a sudden movement in a pitching sequence and gets these guys back on track. Yes, It's true, I'm getting over excited. Look, go scratch, these are my Yankees. This news about AJ's mechanics is major. Don't forget, he was 10-15 with a 5.26 ERA last year, the worst ERA of any Yankee starter ever. Well, BYB freaks, things are about to change. AJ Burnett will be back, kicking some ass, black eye free and ready to rumble and I can't wait.
