Best Moment Of 2009: President Barack Obama's Inauguration

On January 20th, 2009, Barack Obama was sworn in as the first African-American President of the United States of America. Our 44th President made history. Millions of people brave chilly Washington D.C. and millions more watch all over the world to be apart of this amazing historical event.

It was a magical weekend first kicked off with the concert with Beyonce, Mary J. Blige and many other all-stars honoring the president. They actually attended over 10 official Balls. Michelle Obama wore a gorgeous white one-shouldered applique Jason Wu dress.

I just thank God for allowing me to witness this once in a lifetime event. I cried for joy until I couldn't cry anymore.

I wish everyone a bless and safe New Year and I would like to thank all of my fabulous readers for their support. Remember to love fashion but never take it too seriously!

See you guys next year for all the stunning gowns on the red carpet and of course the foolishness on the red carpet!

Happy New Year

Off to Koh Samet (an small island not far from Bangkok that has cheap places to stay) for the New Year. Hope you all have good ones too! I guess I could post something about how this was the worst decade ever for a lot of reasons, but at least we're still hanging. That's something to be thankful for.

Semper Ubi Sub Ubi

From ABC

This photo is the nasty pair of drawers that thankfully didn't blow a hole in Northwest Flight 253, but managed to spook the civilized world during the holidays. But, the concept of strapping bombs to your genitals is nothing new, as seen in Pakistan last year. From the Daily Times in July 2008:
Would-be suicide bombers could be using explosives “underwear briefs” rather than explosives jackets to evade “conservative” body searches, sources said on Wednesday.

Sihala Police College forensic lab sources told Daily Times that the study of recent suicide attacks showed that suicide bombers used “explosives-laden” under-garments, briefs in particular, to carry out the attacks.

The sources said that the explosives could weigh between five kilogrammes to seven kilogrammes, made deadly by adding glass splinters, metal ball bearings and bullets.
So, like we've seen around the world, the determined terrorist can adapt to achieve his objective. Even if the TSA would scrap its much-criticized political correctness in their prevention methods, would they still be able to nab the terrorist dressed up as a woman? I have to take back my post two years ago giving the TSA a hard time for searching military personnel coming home for R&R, in light of the Fort Hood shootings. But will our politicians cease the partisan ugliness to set forth security policies that reflect the current threat level? I have my doubts...

First Lady Michelle Obama is known for her impeccable style. Michelle looked amazing all year. Her favorite designer was definitely Parisian designer Azzedine Alaia which Naomi Campbell is his muse for many years.

She is confident and she knows what works for her. The First Lady has been criticize for showing her tone arms but if I had arms like hers, I would wear tank tops everyday!

Michelle O. is not stuffy nor boring. I remembered when I had my boutique upstairs from Van Cleef Hair Salon in 2003 where Michelle Obama got her hair done by her stylist for many years named Rahni Flowers that she would always try on unique and sexy pieces like Comme de Garcon and Barbara Bates(a local Chicago designer).

Not since Jackie Kennedy Onassis have I been intrigued by a First Lady stunning wardrobe.

Best Designer Of The Year: Prabal Gurung

Ashley Greene

Zoe Saldana

Becki Newton

Leighton Meester

Thandie Newton

Demi Moore

Rachel Weiss

Prabal Gurung took over the red carpet this year with his fabulous creations. Celebrities were eating up his chic cocktail ensembles. Zoe Saldana and Demi Moore were the first to rock his pieces and everyone else got on the band wagon.

I would rock every single of his garments. I am looking forward to his Fall 2010 collection to blow me away!

Best Diva Of The Year: Zoe Saldana

Zoe Saldana has been giving me Hollywood glamour since day one of 2009. I am still recovering from all of this fabulousness!

The "Avator" actress is beautiful and talented. I love her style because she doesn't try too hard. She is tres chic from head to toe.

Zoe is not devoted to one designers. She experiments with sensational designers such as Roland Mouret, Marchesa, Calvin Klein, Chloe and Giambattista Valli.

My diva left everyone in the dust with her stunning wardrobe!
