2009 MTV Movie Awards: Best Dressed Divas

Taraji P. Henson
looks fabulous in this black and white printed poufy Roberto Cavalli dress. I am so happy she took care of that hair situation!

I love this little girl's energy! Keke Palmer looks adorable in this pink emblessished Elise Overland dress. Her gray cut-out booties are hot!

Leighton Meester looks amazing in this futuristic black mesh cut-out Emilio De La Morena dress.

Forest and Keisha Whitaker
were well coordinated. Keisha Whitaker looks fantastic in her pewter Herve Leger dress paired with coral criss-cross heels.

Vanessa Hudgens
looks wonderful in this tangerine draped back BCBG Max Azria maxi dress paired with Jimmy Choo sandals.

Meagan Fox looks great in this black and gold brocade Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress but I am not digging her hair nor make-up. Why so severe?

Sienna Miller bold shoulder Twenty8Twelve dress looks a lot like a Balmain design. I love the color!

I simply adore Miley Cyrus blush cowl neck Moschino Cheap and Chic dress with ruffles cascading on the back but the color is blah, blah and beyond blah! It totally washes her out.

Cameron Diaz
corky style is too cute in her multi colored Matthew Williamson blouse paired with J Brand jeans. I admire the fact she dresses hip but it's still age appropriate.

Leann Rimes
looks absolutely gorgeous in this black textured J. Mendel dress. It was just too much for this occasion maybe for the CMA awards?

Sandra Bullock
continues to stay relevant, how, I don't know? She looks cute in this navy dotted Abaete dress. Someone needs to inform her that it's summer so she needs to put away the hot ass tights!

Ashley Tisdale looks good in this fitted purple leather sheath dress. I am crazy about her strappy sandals!

2009 MTV Movie Awards: Worst Dressed Divas

I am still on the fence with Rumer Willis ethnic printed one-shouldered dress. It's just something about it that isn't working for her and she kind of looks like Wilma Flintstone!

To be honest with you, Lil momma teal flirty dress is cute but it looks like a christmas tree with that hideous brooch. Her yellow pointy shoes are so 5 years ago and her ghetto hair is beyond atrocious!

Speaking of atrocious hair! Again, Monique Coleman silver and black poufy dress is adorable but her hair is a hot mess therefore it ruins everything!

Okay, what is going on with everyone's horrific hair? Lauren Conrad floral Moschino dress looks cheap and cheesy!

Hayden Panettiere looks beyond miscellaneous in this ill fitting Ungaro dress.

I love this sleek Dolce & Gabanna pantsuit but Malin Akerman is blending in with the background. Where is her pop of color?

A Night Out On The Town: President Barack and Michelle Obama

President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama enjoyed a night on the town in New York. He promised her dinner and a night at the theater during his presidential campaign. The couple dined at the Blue Hill restaurant then to the Belasco theater to view the Broadway revival of the August Wilson's play "Joe Turner Come and Gone" which is based on African-Americans lives in the 1900's.

Michelle looks chic as ever in this classic fringed Azzedine Alaia dress. The pop of color electric blue clutch is divine.

The Hair is Baaaack! Halle Berry

Halle Berry attended the Spike Tv's 2009"Guys Choice Awards" looking beyond sexy in her black haltered dress paired with fabulous black cut-out Camilla Skovgaard sandals. I am sooooo delighted that she went back to her fabulous short pixie hair-cut! It just shows off her gorgeous face.

It's A Boy

Kimora Lee Simmons and scrumptious Djimon Hounsou had a beautiful baby boy on Saturday. The name and details of the birth is yet to be announced. I can't wait to see the pictures because he is going to be a cutie pie!

Massive Cultural Empire...Not So Much

That is a picture from the Washington Post of Mark Apram, Baghdad's "most popular tattoo artist", who is proud to say "Anything American, I love it" (h/t Tom Bowler). Well, the Iron Maiden "Killers" shirt is British, but you get the idea. With this bold proclamation that didn't even involve throwing a show, you know he's not winning any friends in the American liberal community. The WaPo has an extensive article of how even though American forces are pulling out of cities, the cultural influence will have a lasting effect:
But the whispers may linger just as long -- the far quieter way in which two cultures that often found it difficult to share the same space intersected to reshape Iraq's language, culture and sensibility. From tattoos of Metallica to bellybutton piercings, from posters for a rap concert in Baghdad to stories parents tell their naughty children in Fallujah of the Americans coming to get them, the occupation has already left its mark.
The big benefit of cultural globalization is that the people have the freedom to choose how they live their life from a variety of trends rather than ones dictated by the state and religion. Reason had a huge article celebrating this phenomenon late last year. They've got metalheads in Iran, you can't go in a club in Southeast Asia right now without hearing "Poker Face", and even communist Laos has it's own Gangsta Rap outfit. Usually when you hear overeducated people talking about how America is "culturally imperialistic", it's because their culture of Segways, organic food, and self-righteous attitudes isn't the one being exported. Besides America is just a cultural stew of the rest of the world after all, who are we to judge what people can't pick and choose.

MTV Video Music Awards Japan 2009

Ciara looks hot in this black leather gathered strapless Tokyo-based brand Dresscamp dress! Her gold wonder woman belt and bangles works well with her dress.

I am not sure if I hate or love Fergie futuristic electric blue Marc Jacobs cut-out dress. I do know that I love her strappy Christian Louboutins.

Again, I am on the fence about Katy Perry peacock Manish Arora dress. It's funky and corky just like her.

Miss Universe Emiri Miyasaka looks fabulous in this blue and turquoise Gucci dress.

I have seen this emerald metallic Roberto Cavalli so many times but singer Crystal Kay still looks great in it but I would've apply some powder to that unsightly mole though.
