WHY WE SHOULDN'T PANIC

Can someone tell me why the Yankees for years have been accused of buying championships and when the Boston Red Sox put together an incredible lineup and bullpen spending a fortune to do over this past winter, NOBODY is talking about it?

Yes, it's true, the Yankees lead baseball with almost $200 million in spending, but the Red Sox are close with over $163 million and when their little extension with Adrian Gonzalez gets done, it will be right there with New York, yet, the Yankees are the ones who buy championships. Ok. I get it. Bias. Just like the way ESPN does their reporting, spin it in a way that the Red Sox come out looking like roses and the Yankees are the bad guys. It's ridiculous.

Look, There is no denying the Red Sox have a great team. That's what teams are supposed to do, Build. They see what type of money they have and they build the best team they can, I have no problem with that, but I just wonder why they don't get the same heat. The Red Sox will pay their pitchers $72.35 million and position players $87.7 million. That's a lot of jack.

Teixeira said the Yankees were the "underdogs" this year and instead of the press agreeing with him, they questioned it and attached "$200 payroll, how could they be underdogs?" to it. Um, we are underdogs. The Red Sox are better in every catagory except bullpen this year in my opinion, and even that's close, but this is where I don't panic... We haven't played a game yet.

This is the spring Ladies and Gentlemen and one thing no one can do is get crazy about the evil Red Sox. Yes they have Adrian Gonzalez but he hasn't even been cleared to swing a bat yet due to his shoulder operation. Read that HERE. Pedroia still felt pain in his broken foot this winter. Read that HERE. Youk, well it's Youk, expect him to get hurt... he always gets hurt, plus, he's coming off injury as well. So, while they have the best team in baseball, the opening day pitch hasn't even been thrown and it clearly looks better on paper. Plus, How will Bobby Jenks handle Fenway? If he sucks ass, they will kill him... literally. And David Ortiz, well, he's old.

All I'm saying is there are a ton of question marks and a lot of baseball still to play. Yes, the Yankees rotation is probably not what everyone wanted, but expect big things from AJ Burnett, Phil, CC and a dark horse like Freddy Garcia. I have faith in Larry Rothschild. Hell, we may even see magic from Ivan Nova this year. Bottom line, we just don't know.

And to all you fans who read the Josh Beckett's, 100 game win prediction. I say, who cares. This is from a guy who was 6-6 with a 5.78 ERA last year. That's not exactly dominant.

I say lets gear up for the season, let's swing the bat and let's play some exhibition games. Let's get into a groove and let the evil Red Sox hype die like the franchise they are. Hell, the curse may be long gone, but it can always linger again.
