WHY BICHETTE'S FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT IN PINSTRIPES

When someone gets an MVP award, it’s clear why they are given it. Most Valuable Player is simple to understand and it’s just not given to anyone. Well, Dante Bichette Jr. just snagged one for his ability to play ball as he works his way up the minor league ladder to the New York Yankees. He earned the Gulf Coast League MVP and I’d say, that’s a good start.

Back on June 18th the Yankees drafted Bichette, who, by the way, is the son of former baseball great, Dante Bichette, Sr. , a close friend of Joe Girardi. We wrote about it in YANKEES FIRST PICK: DANTE BICHETTE JR. Bichette eventually signed and immediately went to train with the Yankees and this season in the Gulf Coast League, Bichette put up very respectable numbers. A .342 average, that 67 for 196. He had 3 home runs, 47 RBIs, 17 doubles and 3 triples. His OBP was .446.

This kid’s going to be something special. We here at Bleeding Yankee Blue hope to get a chance to talk to him about his wild year, and hopefully we do, and we’ll bring it to you. As for now though, congrats to Dante, great job, we can’t wait to see you in the Bronx.
