WHY PIE TASTES LIKE WINNING

When Sabathia was pitching a complete game tonight, I had this sudden whiff in my nose. I smelled pie. It was warm, smelled like green grass and pine tar. You know what I mean? I like pie, all kinds of pie, and tonight I wanted AJ's pie in the biggest way possible.Sabathia pitched a gem, minus a crappy fourth inning. Other than that, he was dead on being really economical and dominant. He didn't give up a hit after that 4th inning. To me, that's downright awesome. I noticed in his face that CC was on a mission, a mission to keep the Yankees in the game and hope that the bombers could get those runs back.

Well, they did. In the bottom of the ninth inning, after Brett Gardner's out, Posada came up and hit a double. After that, Jeter got out. With 2 outs, Granderson knocked in the run, tie game. Granderson steals second and Mark Teixeira knocked in the Granderson. Fast and easy... Yankees win.(Photo: Getty)
Clearly the star of the game is Mark Teixeira tonight for his walk off hit to score Granderson, but to me, the real star tonight is Jorge Posada. If Posada doesn't get his double, the Yankees do not win this game tonight, plain and simple. That Posada double, on a personal level for him, is the beginning of the building blocks that will give confidence and courage back to Jorge Posada's mind. We've been waiting for it Jorge and you did it. Good for you, now keep going.

Huge win tonight after last night's loss, plus, it give CC Sabathia a win. Got to love that.

Final Score: Yankees 5 - Blue Jays 4

Oh and this is important: According the the Associated Press: "Yankees setup man Rafael Soriano will see Dr. James Andrews in Pensacola, Fla., on Wednesday. Soriano, out with right elbow inflammation, had a contrast MRI on Tuesday — his second MRI this month — after feeling soreness while throwing on flat ground a day earlier. The Yankees would not reveal any details of the test until after Andrews consults with team doctors."
Bad news for Soriano and the Yankees. Is it possible that Brian Cashman knew what he was doing when he said he wasn't interested in spending a ton of money on Rafael Soriano? Funny how things work. Maybe David Robertson is the new 3rd head of the Three Headed Monster. I like that idea. By the way, read Mikey Blue's prediction of RaSo from May 17th: WHY THERE ARE ISSUES WITH SORIANO.
